The 2010 National Day of Prayer for Children will take place on the 8th of October. The initiative which was first launched in 2007 invites primary schools throughout Ireland to host a day of prayer for children in mission countries.

The Prayer Day, which is organised by the Society of Missionary Children, aims to strengthen the bond between Irish children and missionary children. National Secretary of Missionary Children, Jackie Pallas, said, "The focus of the National Day of Prayer falls on the children and how they can connect, through prayer, with their friends in mission countries. It has been so encouraging to see the increase in the number of schools participating in the event since it was first launched in 2007."

A range of materials are developed each year to assist schools in their celebration of the event and are available to download in the Children Helping Children section.

If your school isn't involved and would like to do so please contact Jackie at jackie@wmi.ie or telephone 01-4972035.
