'New Look for the Pontifical Mission Societies' image

In 2002 the Mission Societies adopted a 10 year modernisation strategy. With the implementation of the strategy it was further realised that the public lacked understanding of the name and nature of the organisation. Developing a strong unified brand was seen to be one method of tackling the problem.

The Pontifical Mission Societies will be retained as the registered charity but promoted using the new name of 'World Missions Ireland'. Furthermore, a new identifiable and dynamic logo of a cross embracing the globe will be used alongside the name. Although the brand is changing the work of the Pontifical Mission Societies will remain the same.

It is anticipated that the updating of the name and introduction of unified visual branding will make it easier for interested audiences to identify the work of the Pontifical Mission Societies and understand the various elements of the organisations work.
