The Diocese of Banjul

Irish contributions to mission projects in Banjul, The Gambia helped with transport and living costs in 10 rural mission stations. Rural mission life is extremely physically demanding but is essential to help provide the guidance needed in rural communities.

Funds also helped to cover the education costs of the formation programme of local catechists. The diocese has a Junior Seminary which is supported from you generosity. Every parish has an active group where there is catechesis and other activities on a weekly basis.

"Please be assured of our prayers and gratitude to our Irish benefactors for the support and encouragement they give us by their assistance. Only in this way can the missionary work entrusted to us continue to be carried out from one generation to another." - Bishop Robert Ellison CSSp
