The Diocese of Port Elizabeth
In the St. Philip Neri Propedeutic Seminary, the bulk of the money was used to salary the external lecturers, who teach Human Development, English, and Culinary Skills - internal lecturers and oratories take in no income however. The remaining funds were used to repair beds, desks, wardrobes and other furniture. The oratory fathers teach scripture, faith development, spirituality, and also run sports within the school. Below is a letter from one of the seminary's students:
Dear Benefactors,I am Desmond Dean Domkrag, one of the students of St. Philip Neri College. It was a great honour to be part of this strong foundation this year. As we reach the end of this year I would like to thank God first for sending his Holy Spirit upon us through this whole year, but most of all, to all of you who played such a wonderful role during our formation this term. Thank you for being great fathers for us, who really care for your sons. I am from the Diocese of Keimos-Upington and feel really grateful to start the foundation of my priesthood journey in such a way. This college was a cornerstone for the future towards the priesthood. I believe with all this knowledge which we learn this year can reach many high levels. We can become very good priests with richness in Christ. I think the things I have learned this year will be with me my whole life. Thank you once again for everything which you have done for us. I know with this same guidance I will be able to help my fellow brothers just as I have done. May God bless you abundantly, With joy in my heart, Desmond D Domkrag |
